The Karen people are an ethnic group that have been displaced from their homeland due to the worlds longest-running civil war in Myanmar.

The majority are living in overpopulated refugee camps in Thailand and an increasing number are scattered throughout the world via refugee settlement programs.

Over 2000 Karen refugees have decided to come to Bendigo, Australia.

This incredibly unique Asian culture is integrating with Bendigo, a regional Australian town. They are quickly becoming a celebrated part of the community.

'We Are Karen' tells the story of why this immigration is happening and how it’s succeeding.
